Located in the foothills of western Maine, we are a small company focused on crafting high quality timber frames tailored to meet the needs of each individual client. Small or large, simple or complex, we want to create a timber frame that is appropriate for you.

Timber framed buildings are unique from their stick built counterparts both aesthetically and structurally. Upon entering a timber frame, the structure of the building is immediately apparent. The large timbers used to create the frame are fully visible from the interior of the building, making the structure feel larger than the actual dimensions. Additionally, no interior walls are needed to support the building, so timber frame homes and barns often have an open floor plan. Timber framing is a functional craft and each joint provides a visible testament to human skill and attention to detail.

Our goal at Maine Mountain Timber Frames is to work with the client to build a frame that is suitable for your needs. That may mean incorporating timber from the building site into the frame, integrating a few pieces of unique wood into the frame, or simplifying the size and design to make a timber frame a viable option. We can provide frame designs, or bring us your own design.
