Jence Carlson grew up in Maine and graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington. He began timber framing as a way to work with his hands to create utilitarian structures. In the years since he has found he enjoys the entire building process, from concept to building envelope to trim.

Katherine Carlson grew up in Vermont and Philadelphia and graduated from Carleton College in Minnesota. She comes to timber framing from a combined interest in design and sustainable building. Katherine is a certified Passive House consultant.
